As a Colonel in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Chief of Staff at the 8200 Intelligence Unit, I had the great pleasure of working closely with Michael on many high-impact projects. His character is that of a true leader, as he exemplified time and time again in commanding his soldiers. He cares deeply about relationships with others, is a team player and is able to harness different teams for joint work. As a software engineer he wrote high quality meaningful software that was integrated into long-lasting systems, and as a Machine Learning Team Leader he created new software that was groundbreaking in intelligence research. Upon finishing Officers Academy (first in class of 150 !) Michael led his technological team to develop cyber systems based on machine learning. He worked closely with other team members in the IDF intelligence as well as units on the field making use of the technologies his team created. The cyber solutions developed by Michael’s team are making a monumental difference within the IDF, and within Israel’s other intelligence operations. In his young age he harnessed his unique talents for both technological innovations, academic achievements and social responsibility.
